OUR TESTS
Cervical DNA Dtex
NeoDiagnostix is in late stage development of a test called Cervical DNA Dtex that will be introduced into the cervical cancer market. This test detects a specific genetic abnormality that provides both a definitive diagnosis of cervical cancer but also predicts the development of the disease. The Company expects to launch its Cervical DNA Dtex testing service by the end of 2005 and market it to physicians and hospital as a follow-up, or , test for abnormal and ASCUS Pap tests.
Oral DNA Dtex
NeoDiagnostix is also developing a test for the detection and diagnosis of oral cancer. Oral DNA Dtex is currently in clinical validation and should be introduced in mid-2006. The Company expects this testing service to transform the diagnosis of oral cancers. Although more people die each year in the US from oral cancer than cervical cancer or melanoma, there is a lack of effective diagnostic tests for this disease. These results in most patients being diagnosed with late stage disease and undergo disfiguring surgery. The five year survival rate for this patient population is about 50% and has just changed in decades.
